President and Founder
Jeremy Lelek, Ph.D. LPC-S, ICP (IASIS Certified Provider), CCATP (Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional)
My name is Jeremy Lelek, and I serve as the founder and president of Metroplex Counseling and Wellness. I have been a counselor since 1999, and have been a Licensed Professional Counselors since 2003. I hold a Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision, an M.A. in Counseling, and a B.A. in Psychology.
I am also a Certified Provider with IASIS, a Micro-Current Neurofeedback system that offers cutting edge treatment to the brain. IASIS treatments are a naturopathic alternative to psychotropic medications, and are designed to impact the parasympathetic nervous system in such a way that symptoms such as depression, anxiety, anger, inattention, impulsively, addiction, and insomnia are positively impacted in a relatively short period of time.
Additionally, symptoms associated with mild traumatic brain injuries, autism, PTSD, ADHD, Lyme’s Disease, concussions, Fibromyalgia, and eating disorders are also positively impacted by this treatment.
After 20 years of biblical counseling, and now treating various clients with IASIS for the last three months, I have been beyond amazed at the results I’ve witnessed for some of the most difficult emotional and mental issues on my case load (i.e., Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, PTSD, Addiction, Insomnia, Major Depression, Major Anxiety, etc.). I highly recommend this treatment! For more information check out our IASIS page.
I am also a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional with a specialization in the neuro-cognitive processes associated with anxiety (i.e., General Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, etc.). I have developed an effective protocol for anxiety that combine biblical counseling with both a brain-based understanding of anxiety as well as IASIS Micro-Current Neurofeedback.
As a counselor, I seek to use the gifts and knowledge God has given me to most effectively minister to those who seek my help for counseling issues. There are many “voices” in counseling, and over the past decade, I have learned that the clearest voice able to heal the extreme pain, disappointment, anger, fear, addiction, and brokenness of my counselees is that of God’s (as revealed in His Word, and through His Spirit).
I firmly believe that God’s Word is an infallible truth that abides for all eternity. Peter tells us, “The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever” (I Peter 1:25).
My aim as a counselor is to impart this divine truth in a relevant manner for my clients in such a way that it reveals the true nature of their problems (be it marriage, parenting, depression, anger, anxiety, addiction, homosexuality, sleeplessness, etc.), and in hopes it will move them toward true and lasting healing. I work hard to extend the love of Jesus to every person who walks through my door whether they embrace the Christian faith or otherwise.
Areas of specialty include: Marriage, pre-marital, parenting, depression, anger, anxiety, addiction, homosexuality, sexual abuse, stress, work related struggles, and sleeplessness. I also have extensive experience with those who have been diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
I am also the president of the Association of Biblical Counselors, the author of Biblical Counseling Basics (2018), co-host on the podcast, Speak the Truth, a council member for the Biblical Counseling Coalition, and an adjunct professor at Regent University.
I have been blessed to be married to my beautiful wife, Lynne, and we currently have the joy of loving and raising our four amazing children.
Lynne Lelek, BSN, R.N., ICP
My name is Lynne Lelek, and I am a Registered Nurse who holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing (BSN). I worked at Harris Methodist Hospital for sixteen years in Women’s Services, twelve of which I had the joy of working in Labor and Delivery where I had the privilege of serving top physicians and staff in D/FW to bring new life into the world.
Currently, I work on the Med-Surge Telemetry Unit at Baylor-Scott and White in downtown Fort Worth where I treat patients who have been discharged from the Emergency Room, but continue to require acute care. I find profound fulfillment in loving and ministering to those who find themselves in desperate medical (even emergency) situations.
One of my most exciting accomplishments within the last few years has been becoming a Certified IASIS Provider. Since offering IASIS I have been amazed at seeing people who rate themselves at a 7-10 (10 being severe) on issues such as anxiety and depression, and witnessing them rate their experience on these same issues at a 1-3 (1 being mild) following treatment—all without psychotropic meds. I love seeing people leave my office with a smile on their face.
Tammy Porostovsky, ICP, Provisional with Jeremy Lelek, Ph.D.
My name is Tammy Porostovsky, and I am a certified IASIS provider. I have worked for Metroplex Counseling (as the office manager) since 2010, and I have a passion to love and serve our clientele well.
Several years ago, my husband and I experienced a very traumatic event when we lost our son, Max, within minutes of his birth because he had a fatal genetic disorder called Trisomy 18. The trauma of losing a child just minutes after his birth has marked me forever. It is from this place that I long to serve those who have experienced trauma by offering biblical love and support through the ground-breaking technology of Micro-Current Neurofeedback therapy (IASIS)–a treatment that brings healing and change to the brain scarred by the horror of trauma.
In addition to becoming a certified provider for IASIS, I am also currently a student at Le Torneau University where I am working towards a degree in counseling.
Aaron Lelek, ICP, Provisional with Jeremy Lelek, Ph.D.
My name is Aaron Lelek and I am a student at the University of Texas at Austin. I am a Philosophy major, and also pursuing a medical degree with plans of becoming a D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy). I was blessed with the opportunity to become certified as an Iasis microcurrent neurofeedback provider during winter break during my first semester of college. Being able to use this technology to help people has allowed me to live out my passion to love and serve others.
Lindsey Wright, ICP, Provisional with Jeremy Lelek, Ph.D.
My name is Lindsey Wright and I am a Certified Provider of IASIS MicroCurrent NeuroFeedback. I also earned a Masters Degree in Counseling in 2012. Over the past 10 years, I have worked in private practice as a counselor and then on staff at a church as the Director of Spiritual Formation. I spent much of that time training and equipping others to live from a place of connection. I believe that our Triune God, who lives in constant connection within Himself, created us in His image to also live in connection. By God’s design, we need connection with Him, connection with others, and connection with ourselves. While most of us can acknowledge our desire for connection with others, and once you’ve tasted of God’s goodness, you know the joy of connection with Him, many of us have not been trained in the importance of connection with ourselves. We are fearfully and wonderfully made! Our experiences throughout life are connected to our experience of life now. Trauma, stress, and learned negative patterns go deeper than what we can see through our thoughts and feelings; We are soul and body, so we must tend to both.
The use of IASIS MCN frees the brain from hormonal overload due to stress and trauma. It allows the brain to get “unstuck” and create new pathways, allowing your soul to live more connected with the body you inhabit. I am so grateful to be able to offer this treatment for anyone who is feeling like there’s a wall you can’t get over, no matter how hard you try. Whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, anger, insomnia, or countless other difficulties, there is hope, friend.
My husband, Travis, and I have been blessed with 3 amazing young kids, who take up most of (ok, all of) our free time. We love our “Slow Saturdays,” going for walks, playing with friends, and cozying up with a good book. Ok, maybe that’s just me, but I’ll take the gift of alone time to read any chance I get! I look forward to the opportunity to welcome you into a safe space where God can meet you and restore connection for you.
Kyle Mitchell, LCSW, LCCA
My name is Kyle Mitchell and I seek to bring hope to the hopeless. I have a B.A. in Religion from Baylor University and a M.S. in Social Work from The University of Texas – Arlington. I’m also an ordained pastor. From my teen years, I have had a passion for helping hurting people find healing and restoration in life. Life hurts and sometimes we can become overwhelmed, confused, anxious, and paralyzed in our experiences.
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12
I have almost 20 years of pastoral experience with students and families and over 10 years of clinical experience in both direct practice with individuals, marriages, and families and leadership as a Program Director in a children’s home. I’m also a Trust-Based, Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner trained by The Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at TCU. This training equips me to bring hope and understanding to those who have experienced Trauma or have attachment related issues, particularly those who have been adopted or come from “hard places” like the foster care system. All these combine to help bring compassion to those wanting to find their path again, or perhaps discover it for the first time.
I like to focus on teenagers and their life challenges and the parenting approaches that go with teens and children who struggle. I also work with anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse recovery, grief, marital issues, sexuality issues, conflict resolution, ADD, post-adoption, and attachment issues.
I have been married for almost 23 years and God had granted us four children. They all arrived in the span of five years so it has made for a pretty fast paced life together. Our two oldest are now young adults and the two youngest are in High School. They all have taught me much about navigating life!
David Seckinger, LPC
My name is David Seckinger, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I was thrilled when I was invited to become a part of Metroplex Counseling. I come with over 25 years of pastoral ministry experience and “disciple making”, which has often been referred to as biblical counseling within the context of the local church. This background has allowed me the privilege of having very personal insight into the pastor’s ministry, home and marriage. Perhaps now as never before pastors and their families are under tremendous stress, some even facing crisis and need an empathetic reminder of our Savior’s complete sufficiency for their every need. As part of that pastoral experience my wife and I served an International Church in Asia which nurtured believers from all over the world, giving us a unique perspective on cross cultural needs and biblical answers as well.
After serving a year in a Dallas area Christian practice, I began working at MHMR Tarrant County for 4 years. Most of those I served there not only had mental and emotional health needs but also faced significant material and health shortfalls. So many had experienced unimaginable trauma and abuse; physical, emotional, spiritual or sexual. It was an opportunity for me to learn how to be God’s Kingdom “salt and light” and to manifest the mercy and grace of the Father. Though equipped to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, it was frustrating to have to stop short of ministering the whole Gospel, the good news of substantial healing through the death and resurrection of Jesus.
It is a cliché to say we live in unsettling times. The truth is that the times often heighten our own sense of being overwhelmed and having unsettled lives. We struggle to make sense of our own story. It is my hope to introduce for the first time, or to refresh your memory of the fact that our stories are a part of a much bigger story, God’s story, and that he has made and purposed us to experience this story by faith in Jesus and by the power of his Holy Spirit. The Word of God, which is living by that same Spirit, tells God’s story from creation, to his response to the fall, to the death and resurrection of Jesus to redeem us, to his return to the Father and ultimately his return to rule all creation. As those who are his by his grace through faith, this story is our hope and the context in which our lives, whatever we are facing, begin to make sense.
Areas of Interest and Specialty: Both by training and experience God has been equipping me to respond to those struggling with depression, anxiety/stress, bi-polar, various kinds of trauma or abuse (acute or long term), men’s issues including addiction, marriage and family.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts at Pace University, a Master of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary and a Master of Art’s in Professional Counseling from Amberton University.
I have been married to Judy for 44 years and have 3 grown, married children and 8 grandchildren. I enjoy reading, traveling and watching British crime dramas with Judy.
Tim Watson, LPC
My name is Tim Watson and I’ve earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX after graduating with a BS in Sociology from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. I am a member of the Association of Biblical Counselors and the Christian Association for Psychological Studies.
Over the past several years I have had the opportunity and privilege to work with adolescents, families, couples and individuals in a clinical setting as well as a church setting. My areas of specific interest in counseling include men’s issues, marriage and family issues, adolescents, addictions, anxiety/stress and grief/trauma.
As a believer in Christ and a counselor I consider it a great privilege to walk with those who are in the midst of life’s struggles. It may be hard to believe at this time but there is a God in Heaven who is ever so familiar with the struggles you and all of us deal with on a day-to-day basis and He longs to meet you right where you are. Hebrews 4:14-16 says “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses….Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” My hope and prayer for you as you pursue counseling is that you might experience first-hand God’s amazing grace and love no matter the circumstance.
I currently live in Fort Worth with my wife, Brittany and three crazy boys. I meet with clients in our Fort Worth, Bedford and Southlake offices.

Joel Petereson, LPC
My name is Joel Peterson. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received my undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 2012 and my Masters degree in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2016. Outside of Metroplex Counseling, I have experience in church soul care counseling as well as in-patient residential treatment for substance abuse.
Titus 3:3-7 states, “For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Notice the beginning of this passage and then the end of it. We have great hope. I pray I can come alongside you, whatever you are going through.
I work with those who are struggling with singleness and/or loneliness, relationship conflicts, parenting, adolescents, young adults, pornography addiction, alcohol and other substance abuse, depression, suicidal thoughts, and anxiety.
Outside of counseling I enjoy the outdoors, hip-hop dancing, cooking a full breakfast, and LSU sports. I’m involved at Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, Texas. I see clients in our Fort Worth office. Please email me if you have any questions!
Brenda Klemanchuck, LPC-Associate (Supervised by Dr. Jeremy Lelek, LPC-S)
My name is Brenda Klemanchuck I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Jeremy Lelek, Ph.D, LPC-S. I received my undergraduate degree from Columbia International University (formerly Columbia Bible College) in 1996 and my Masters degree in Counseling from University of North Texas in 2003. Psalms 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” I believe that God loves to redeem and heal people and I look forward to walking with you as He does His work.
I count it a blessing to walk alongside those with challenges in the areas of singleness, infertility, adoption/foster care, depression, anxiety, and relational conflicts. I have also worked with many students with disabilities including autism and those diagnosed with emotional disturbance.
I’ve been married for 6 years to a wonderful man who is a local pastor and a mom of three beautiful daughters whom God brought to us through adoption. In my free time, I love to be outdoors hiking, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Julie Nesbitt, MA LPC-Associate (Supervised by Jeremy Lelek, Ph.D LPC-S)
My name is Julie Nesbitt. In 2012, I completed my master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I am now a Texas Licensed Professional Counseling Associate.
For the past eight years I have worked as an international member care clinical counselor, helping people work through spiritual, family, marital, school, and workplace conflicts, career choice, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, eating, spiritual, and identity issues. I have also conducted pre- and post-adoption home studies and have experience and training in post-adoption attachment. I have led multiple conflict resolution and team building workshops in Asia and Europe.
I am a certified Grip-Birkman (team building in the home, church, and workplace) and Prepare-Enrich (premarital and marriage) coach. I am also a qualified Texas mediator and enjoy using my training to help people resolve their conflicts.
The New Testament letters often begin by teaching truth and end by describing what our lives will look like when we understand and apply that truth in community. Therefore, I like to help people understand the truth and then walk with them as they try to work out the application of that truth in their relationships. I like to help people who feel stuck start to move forward in loving, listening, and understanding each other. God knows that sometimes we need pictures to help us understand complicated truths, so throughout scripture God uses physical activities (like foot washing and breaking bread) to illustrate important truths. I also like to help people communicate and understand truth physically. This can be especially helpful for people who are struggling to find words to talk about their experience. I look forward to meeting you.
My husband Harold and I have been married for over 30 years and have 5 children (one adopted), a daughter- and son-in-law, and 2 grandchildren.
Sarah Kristine Rae, Intern (Supervised by Jeremy Lelek, Ph.D LPC-S)
My name is Sarah Hanlin, and I am a Social Work Graduate student at Indiana University, graduating in August 2021. I am supervised by Kyle Mitchell, LCSW, LCCA. I received two undergraduate degree from Toccoa Falls College in Counseling/Psychology and in Bible/Theology in 2016 and, subsequently, spent two years providing mental health care to low-income families before returning to school.
In our Father there is always cause for hope and for looking forward to the redemption of every aspect of our lives. Until then we strive together with great patience and expectation. Philippians 4:5-7 tells us that the Lord is near and that He gives us His peace that surpasses all understanding. I am eager to walk alongside others in this truth, trusting the Lord to work as He has promised. I am passionate about working with teenagers and young adults facing the challenges of anxiety, self-harm, depression, suicidal thoughts, stress, perfectionism, and conflict related issues.
I have been married for five blessed years to my high school sweetheart, Neil. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, especially, my nieces and nephew and spend time outside hiking or kayaking.
My name is Jennifer Winter and I am a Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. I am also a Certified Feast 2 Fast® coach, helping clients train their bodies to become metabolically flexible while simultaneously helping them achieve peace with food. I am passionate about educating my clients on how to support their own body’s ability to heal. I aim to create small, easy-to-implement changes that will make a big impact towards health and healing. I also understand the emotional bondage that food can have over a person and have a heart to see a client experience freedom from that bondage, often through simple changes in diet and lifestyle.
As an NTP I acknowledge that no two people are the same, and therefore, no one diet will fit every person. As a Nutritional Therapist, I will work with you to uncover imbalances, support nutritional deficiencies and come up with a protocol that will fit your bio-individual needs in order to support your own body’s innate ability to heal.
Understanding that there is a direct correlation between gut health and brain health, I am continuing my education in Mental Health Integrative Medicine so that I can further support my clients. I am excited to be working at Metroplex Counseling and Wellness, partnering with our biblical counselors and our neuro-feedback practitioners to support the mind, body and soul. I am so proud to be part of a team that embraces a holistic mindset, knowing that in order to support one part of the body, we must support the whole body.
I believe that we live in a broken world, and as a result, we have broken bodies; but neither is a match for our Creator, who intricately designed us for health and healing. I am fully committed to walking beside you into the abundant life that God created you for.
My husband, Justin, and I live in Decatur with our daughter. We are blessed to also share our property with our son and his new wife as well as with my mom. We enjoy ranch life, which allows us to garden and raise cattle and chickens in our spare time.
