Hello, my name is Jonathan Fisher and I am a licensed professional counseling intern working for Metroplex counseling. I graduated with an undergraduate degree in psychology from the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Additionally, I obtained a master’s degree in counseling from the University of North Texas. I then went on to intern in a mental hospital, which gave me experience working with people who struggle with severe mental disorders.

For the last ten years I have been involved in numerous church and Christian organizations that focus on discipleship and heart change. My involvement in these organizations started my passion for the understanding of scripture and how it changes the human heart. The inherent sin nature of the human heart and the consequences that result from living in a world corrupted by sin has led many people to feel lost and overwhelmed by sin. This fact has led me, and many others to ask, “What is the solution?” We have learned that the solution is a beautiful and intentional relationship with Jesus Christ, knowing that he delights in us and desires our complete trust in him.

That is easy to say, but how does one achieve such a relationship? The answers are found in scripture and in understanding the truth. Through our counseling experience, I want to seek the answers with you. As found in John 18:37-38 “‘You are a king, then!’ said Pilate. Jesus answered, ‘You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.’ ‘What is truth?’ retorted Pilate.” Pilate learned that Jesus was truth, but instead of learning from this and accepting Jesus, he walked away. I want to help you gain emotional, spiritual, and even physical health through your relationship with Jesus.

Areas of specialty and interest include: loneliness, purposelessness, depression, anxiety, addiction, emotional and sexual abuse, family, pre-marital, parenting, anger, grief, shame, guilt, stress, work related struggles, self-control, self-worth and fear. I also have experience with those who struggle with Bi-Polar Disorder, Asperger Syndrome, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
