My name is Joel Peterson. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern supervised by Dr. Jeremy Lelek, LPC-S. I received my undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 2012 and my Masters degree in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2016. Outside of Metroplex Counseling, I have experience in church soul care counseling as well as in-patient residential treatment for substance abuse.

Titus 3:3-7 states, “For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Notice the beginning of this passage and then the end of it. We have great hope. I pray I can come alongside you, whatever you are going through.

I work with those who are struggling with singleness and/or loneliness issues, relationship conflicts, adolescents, men’s issues, depression, and anxiety. God will always meet you with His grace no matter what you are going through.

Outside of counseling I enjoy the outdoors, hip-hop dancing, cooking a full breakfast, and LSU sports. I’m involved at Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, Texas. I work in our Bedford and Fort Worth offices. Please email me if you have any questions!
