My name is Kathy Haecker and I am truly amazed and blessed that the Lord has brought me to this place at this time in my life. Having walked with the Lord for over 40 years, I have seen Him do “exceedingly, abundantly above what I could ask or think” many times. I know He has a plan for your life too. He takes us where we are, not where we think we should be, could be, or will be and makes us like Himself. Sometimes, we need someone else to go through the process of change with us, give us a listening ear, ask us questions we have not thought to ask ourselves, and give us a little encouragement along the way. I would like to be that person for you.

I have been married 37 years to the same man, reared 5 children who were all teenagers at the same time, and worked in various capacities including being a stay-at-home mom, a school teacher, children’s pastor, administrative assistant, Teen Court Coordinator, chaplain, and most recently crime victim’s liaison at three police departments. I graduated in November 2010 with a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University and look forward to using what I have learned in school and experienced in life to help others grow in their relationship with God and others. My major areas of emphasis are marriage, parenting, abuse and victimization, women’s issues, anxiety and stress, and spiritual issues.

We have seen theories and methods of counseling change rapidly over the last 150 years but God’s Word stands forever and can be trusted. We will continue to see the world try to squeeze us into its mold but only God can give us a new heart with the right motives and a desire to please Him instead of ourselves and others. My desire is to help my clients know God personally, hear His voice, and learn to counsel their own hearts from His Word. As an intern, I will be supervised by Steve Clay, LPC-S, the director of Metroplex Counseling. I would love to meet you and be a part of God’s work in your life.

I currently live in Euless with my husband, Gary, and see clients in our Bedford and Fort Worth offices.
